Monday Giveaway: In Honor by Jessi Kirby

I'd like to announce the winners from my Epic Giveaway:

The winner of Insurgent is Melissa Brady King.
The winner of a pre-order of Crewel is Kelly Fox.
The winner of The Handmaid's Tale is Kylie Carlson.

Yay and Congrats! Thanks to everyone who entered and shared what they are reading in the comments. I discovered so many new books this week!

And now for this week's giveaway... In Honor by Jessi Kirby.

Hours after her brother’s military funeral, Honor opens the last letter Finn ever sent. In her grief, she interprets his note as a final request and spontaneously decides to go to California to fulfill it.

Honor gets as far as the driveway before running into Rusty, Finn’s best friend since third grade and his polar opposite. She hasn’t seen Rusty in ages, but it’s obvious he is as arrogant and stubborn as ever—not to mention drop-dead gorgeous. Despite Honor’s better judgment, the two set off together on a voyage from Texas to California. Along the way, they find small and sometimes surprising ways to ease their shared loss and honor Finn’s memory—but when shocking truths are revealed at the end of the road, will either of them be able to cope with the consequences?

My Epic Monday Giveaway: Insurgent + Crewel + The Handmaid's Tale Signed

And the winner of The Selection is Angie. Congratulations! You should have received an e-mail from me.

This week...I'm doing things a little differently.

Two weeks ago today, a book showed up in my mailbox. It was a few minutes past four when I tore into the package and pulled out a book I've been dying to read. By 4:10 p.m., I was full engrossed, devouring word after word, page after page.

I sent the kids and husband out to dinner...without me.

I skipped watching The Voice (which is huge for me since I'm crushin' like mad on Adam Levine these days).

I finished the book at approximately 9:25 p.m.

And I cried when I closed it. Cried because there were no more pages. Cried because I have to wait well over a year for the next one in the series. Cried because the book wasn't mine and finishing meant I had to package those amazing words and pages up and send them off in the mail.

So what is this book?

It's Crewel, the debut novel by the lovely and talented Gennifer Albin. And although it won't be released until October 16th of this year, I'm telling you...YOU WANT TO READ THIS BOOK.

So pre-order it, schedule time off from work or school or life on October 16th, and count down the days...

There's only 161 of them left.

To pass the time, I'm giving away 3 fabulous prizes to 3 fabulous winners this week. So without further ado, here's what I'm giving away...

Insurgent by Veronica Roth

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian Divergent series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature

A Pre-Order of Crewel by Gennifer Albin. (shipping after the book's release in October)

Incapable. Awkward. Artless.

That’s what the other girls whisper behind her back. But sixteen year-old Adelice Lewys has a secret: she wants to fail.

Gifted with the ability to weave time with matter, she’s exactly what the Guild is looking for, and in the world of Arras, being chosen as a Spinster is everything a girl could want. It means privilege, eternal beauty, and being something other than a secretary. It also means the power to embroider the very fabric of life. But if controlling what people eat, where they live and how many children they have is the price of having it all, Adelice isn’t interested.

Not that her feelings matter, because she slipped and wove a moment at testing, and they’re coming for her—tonight.

Now she has one hour to eat her mom’s overcooked pot roast. One hour to listen to her sister’s academy gossip and laugh at her Dad’s stupid jokes. One hour to pretend everything’s okay. And one hour to escape.

Because once you become a Spinster, there’s no turning back.

A SIGNED paperback copy of The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

Offred is a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead. She may leave the home of the Commander and his wife once a day to walk to food markets whose signs are now pictures instead of words because women are no longer allowed to read. She must lie on her back once a month and pray that the Commander makes her pregnant, because in an age of declining fertility, Offred and the other Handmaids are valued only if their ovaries are viable. Offred can remember the years before, when she lived and made love with her husband, Luke; when she played with and protected her daughter; when she had a job, money of her own, and access to knowledge. But all of that is gone now...

Funny, unexpected, horrifying, and altogether convincing, The Handmaid's Tale is at once scathing satire, dire warning, and tour de force.
